Intensive conversation courses are intended to those who already possess certain knowledge of given language and they wish to apply this knowledge in real life.
It often happens that a person has successfully completed general language courses, reached a high level and perfect knowledge of grammar rules, but still they have a barrier in communication. Often, a blockage in mind occurs when someone tries to remember a simple word or they can understand everything but have difficulties when they need to speak.
This is not unusual at all, nor does it mean that this person possesses no talent for languages. On the contrary, this is quite natural. A person has a passive knowledge of the language that is reduced to reading, listening and writing. However when they need to activate this knowledge in a conversation barrier occurs. The reason why this is quite common is that often there is no environment where person can activate this passive knowledge.
