The Language passport was developed by the Council of Europe as one of the three parts of the European Language Portfolio (www.coe.int/portfolio).
The Europass Language Passport is a document in which you can record your skills and competences in Languages, after you make a self-assessment of your language skills in understanding (listening and reading), speaking (spoken interaction and spoken production), and writing. This self-assessment is made according to the Common European Framework of Reference, which is a six-level grid developed by the Council of Europe. The grid consists of three broad levels as follows:
